I processed the clay for the paint. It's now drying, but I think it's going to need a second sift after I powder it. At the rate it's going, it won't be dry anytime soon, so I'll need to find something to spread it out onto so that it'll dry faster.

Am I going to be happy with a middle mud brown? Maybe not. So, I'm also looking into iron oxide red. I have the steel wool, the vinegar, and the bleach, so why not? I will need to improvise a mortar of some sort, or buy one big and hard enough to process the pigments.

In writing, I finally got over the hump of the first revision. This last novel of the series certainly needed it. Once I get this last novel straight, I can go back and rewrite the first novel, then start shoving this four book series out the door.
