July 4 Weekend

The weekend got off to a bang with a good swim meet. The teams were ranked 14 points apart. At the end of the first half, the score was 209-209. Sadly, we lost it in the second half, falling behind by almost 40 points.

Jenny took on the mission of pulling the poison ivy. God bless her. Despite all her precautions, she still caught some poison ivy.

We spend the 3rd/4th with my parents. We went up for dinner and stayed through lunch. DesignGirl has discovered new depths of boredom. My mom had bought some Rokenboks for dirt cheap, thinking that they were Legos. They aren't. So Jenny and I dug through the pieces looking to identify sets. Unfortunately, it looks like some of the blocks were included in the thrift store donation that my mom bought, so all the sets are missing something. Irritating.

DesignGirl picked up a how to draw anime book, so now she's busily developing a new skill. To treat her, I gave her one of my drafting style mechanical erasers. Those things rock. She was appreciative.

My girls finally made by birthday cake. Jenny did the baking and DesignGirl did all the piping. I got a steampunk style dirigible flying among the clouds. Pictures to follow.
