Back to Double Jack

I'm back into Double Jack and having a great time. My God, I wrote some nice prose. Was this really me?

At this point, I have a decision to make again. Will I continue setting the story in a place that is America-like, with similarish history, or will I place it in America? The advantage of a fictional place is that I don't have to worry about facts. The problem is that I disconnect the reader from the reality. I've tilted back and forth over this to no real solution. They are both very valid with very strong points.
