Long Weekend

I had a long weekend with an extra day off, plus Jenny was out of town on a writing retreat, which meant that me and my daughter were left alone to wreck havoc. She watched Minecraft videos and I read.

For a special date, we cozied up and watched the Phineas and Ferb movies.

We were going to go to the Peruvian place, where they had these fried hot-dogs that were half-quarter cut to look squiddish, but they were closed, so we went to the old, reliable Woodside Deli instead.

I made great progress in editing A Crown of Silver Stars. I'm onto the hard stuff at this point. My editor asked some good questions, a few of which I couldn't deny. Some things you can paint over, but other things, you have to look at the wall behind it.

I sent off The Phoenix and The Swan to my first readers. We'll see if I produced a train wreck or an acceptable read soon enough.

In yard havoc, I trimmed some of the front bushes. I clipped off the top three feet, leaving four feet underneath. Yeah, that was a whole lot of bushes. I hadn't done them in three years. If you think that's awfully slow yard work, you're right, but each year I progress on something.
