As for the weekend, my Mother-in-Law and her husband were staying with us. For the most part, the visit was low key and easy. They gave us a reason to at the local Argentinian place, which does great steak at a reasonable price.
I had to miss the county fair because I felt so awful. My daughter's cake won a blue ribbon for her age and category, but I don't know how much competition she faced. Each member of her camp also won a blue ribbon. But a blue ribbon is a blue ribbon, so we celebrate. The cake had two sculpted cows and a sculpted pig in a mud puddle. To say that it looked cute would be understating things.
My daughter rode rides until her brain fell out.
My in-laws gave us a gazebo. More specifically, we chose and ordered a metal-framed gazebo with a cloth top. I assembled it on Saturday morning. The whole process took about three hours. If I had to do it again, it would take two hours, or maybe less. I think that two people could get assembly time down to one hour.
