Okay, I admit, the Blackberry does count as a smartphone. What I had really wanted was a new OS 10 Blackberry, but as the department was going towards iPhones, I got an iPhone so that I could support the platform. To be honest, I am thoroughly surprised that I got a phone swap at all. I am used to the gears of modernity turning at slow rates.
So the good news is that I don't have to pay for the damned thing, I learn a new device, and I still don't have to take it home.
I can't tell about the battery life yet.
One-handed use is not as easy as a Blackberry. Man, do I already miss those Blackberry keys.
The thing that I use smartphones the most for are for work email and phone. Sometimes I use the maps. That's it. I never really caught the phone fancy. That may change.
