I am critiquing self-published novels off of Amazon on my blogger blog. I want to ramp up my critiquing and novel doctor skills. Can I make money off of that? Who knows? In the meantime, I need up my overall skills.
Another self-published author has a novel in alpha (God, I hate that term), and I am reading through it for new. That just arrived this morning. That should keep me occupied for a while. She needs to know that all the logical, plot, thought stuff all hangs together, and if there are any gaps or significant issues, to find them. That, too, fall into working on my book doctor skills.
I picked up a novel that I started six months ago, but then let go. "Four Against All" is the working title. I'm still figuring out what it's all about. It's a straightforward, kick-in-the-door style novel, whose sole purpose is to get you to the night fight. Will it work? I don't know. Don't ask me.
The vanity is coming along. After a talk with the power sander and fine sandpaper to even out the finish, this layer of tung oil isn't splotching, or is splotching so little that I haven't noticed yet. Yay. Progress.
Jenny wants cold frames. My job is to figure out how to deliver them. Stay tuned for panicked screaming followed by hyperventilating.
