I've begun playing Fallout: New Vegas. My computer runs for about an hour before the SATA chip overheats, bringing the game to a crawl. That's a feature, not a bug.
Do you know all those cool games that everyone has been playing during the decade? (Bioware, I'm looking at you.) I haven't played any. None. Nada. Zilch. Friend, you may not flee me.
I've begun assembling a character reference for Weeds Among Stone. So far, I am very unsatisfied with my writing in that book. The beginning simply doesn't work as I constructed it. Even more so, for as much as I worked at slowing down my writing, that book still whizzes way too fast in many places. I've simply left too much unsaid. Ah, nothing hurts like hindsight. Part of the reason that I can see the problems is that I've worked through them on SBEAH. The pacing works far better in that book. Fewer parts drag. Fewer parts leave the reader unsatisfied.
In other words, I've developed as a writer, and that book is no longer up to my standards.
I may eventually rewrite Weeds Among Stone, but not before the third book is done. I can then harmonize those books together, which is not something so easy to do in traditional publishing. Or maybe I'll just abandon them as failed experiments on the way to developing successful experiments.
As of today, two copies of the new book sold. Thanks, both of you. For you all keeping score, that means that I've sold none this week.
