I scored a heavy maple log, only to discover that I had scored a heavy walnut log. So, I will now be building a walnut bench for shed work. Phew. (Literal, sitting size bench, not a workbench. It's um, a working-bench.)

I need more clamps. I need a bench vice. Most of all, I need this bench. I have no way of getting wood off the ground so that I can saw it. Without the bench, life is just too challenging.

I'm looking for free tools. My budget is free, but I can scrape up money if the cache of tools is big enough. Old tools are quite welcome. I have space for cleaning up tools and making new handles.

My projects currently orient on my needs. What do I need? That's my project. After the bench, I am most likely to make a mallet. After that, I have some old doors in the attic. I'll see what those are made of. They should make acceptible shelving material. They will need planing, but that is why I need a bench. Do you see how this works?
