Took Hers Truly with me to get new lenses for my glasses. (With insurance, $90, including eye exam.) Jen was going to come along, but Hers Truly was upset because she wanted "special daddy time." So Jen sent along food instead, which was a godsend. Hers Truly spent half the time eating the apple.

I did not find frames that i liked more than the ones that I have, so we just ordered lenses. When the lenses come in, I'll go back and see if I can find glasses that I like. Part of the problem is that the insurance puts $130 towards frames, but these frames are more than $130 and are still in very good condition.

I did some work on the axe handle this weekend. The head came loose. I shaped the handle some more, straightening it. I re-did the head. The axe now strikes truer.

I'm already working on another handle and I realized that it's too short. I'll still make it.

I've been investigating some alternate sources of wood for the handle. Old sports equipment, such as hockey sticks, have good wood in them. I wonder if I can exploit that source of cheap, resilient wood.
