Meanwhile, I resurrected my iBook G3 to run Ubuntu PPC. I want it to catch pictures from my brother-in-law and serve up pics to the family. I'm installing Gallery. The box has a few trouble so far. For one, it has a video card problem. I can work around that. (I do have a heat gun. Some people have resoldered the chips with a head gun. Some have just put pressure on it.) Even so, the hard drive is awful small. I'll jigger somehow. I'm trying to avoid anything too jiggery, because the thing is already too jiggery.
Oh, and I don't want to spend $$$. The iBook is 9 years old. I bought a new power cord for it ($15), so that should help its power woes. I won't buy a working battery for it. Really, what I want to spend is absolutely nothing.
I would use my Ubuntu desktop, but I don't want my desktop there on the web. You can understand that.
