Holiday Weekend

Through guile and poverty, I managed to secure a holiday weekend at home.

Friday night, I splurged and took us out to the Chinese buffet. (The dim sum place is half the cost and a far better value, but it's nice to have a bit of fun every so often.)

On Saturday, we went boating up on Lake Needwood. We rented a kayak for an hour and had a picnic.

Sunday, we went to church, then we went to Glen Echo for a few hours of their Irish music and dance festival. Hers Truly got a truly good carousel ride, then some excellent dancing in, along with pushing daddy over and landing on him.

On Monday, we relaxed about the house.

I also cleaned up the shed and cleaned out the gutters.

I started into my "new" book, which tells the story of unraveling the K-T Boundary. It's a great science read.

In the next few days, Lord of the Rings online goes free-to-play, and I am ever so tempted.
