We had a fine time. The weather began lousy, but Saturday cleared up.
I spent lots of time with Hers Truly. We went back to look at boats many time, reaching off the docks to touch the water, and seeing fish and snakes. There was also an extended "throw rocks in the river" session. We went out on a canoe twice. We had a fine time in a swimming pool where Hers Truly would only stay on the ladder. The water was still intimidating. That's OK, because it was intimidating to me. It's been a long time since I had to face the COLD RUSH of jumping into a pool.
The whole area was fairly large, and we walked over it, back and forth, a lot. I was utterly exhausted on Sunday when we left. Hers Truly was even more gone, asleep when we hit the first traffic light. Hey folks, I wore out a three-year-old. Don't try this at home.
I did have a horrible time with Hers Truly when we got home. I could not help her unbuckle from the car on a 90 degree day. She was hysterical when I did unbuckle her, and she buckled herself again. Finally, Jenny tempted her out with strawberry picking. *phew*
