The Year in Review

Here's a quick snippet of my year:

- (Nov. 2001) Bought a Palm M105. Got a red face place for it.
- Wizardy 8 finally came out. Played that throught twice!
- I learned clawhammer banjo style from Dwight Diller in a three day weekend in January.
- Hand wrote a bad fantasy novel from January to June. I started typing it in, but then I got distracted. "Silence and Rain" will be completed one day.
- Bought a new banjo in February. An open-back Gold Tone. Fibreskin head. Steel strings.
- The Fisher household held many a film-festival, which I greatly enjoyed.
- In Jan-February, I helped

- The Fisher household held many a film-festival, which I greatly enjoyed.
- In Jan-February, I helped <ljuser=xpiioti> to rebuild her living room.
- Worked on the Winter retreat committee for work. That was a Meyers-Briggs centric workshop, which I quite enjoyed.
- In February, I started playing in the Glen Echo open band. I also tried Contra dancing, which is great fun.
- I attended the Winterfest Takoma Park Folk Festival, whering I met some intersting folks.
- Tried playing with some Irish players on Friday nights, but I wasn't up to snuff.
- Tried playing with some singers on Thurday night, but I wan't up to snuff. (I am a dance-rhythm player and that didn't fit. I just sounded lousy.)
- Atteneded a variety of musical workshops from February to April. Learned a bit about playing. Learned that I am a good improvisor.
- Finally gave away the couch. Maug took it. I didn't even have to pay him to take it.
- I dated Cathy very briefly in April. That did not turn out well for us.
- I learned a bit of pennywhistle form May-June.
- Bought a PS2 in May. Played much FFX.
- Visited the Moroccan restaurant Marakesh in May for Bob's birthday party. Wow, great food. Best $50 I ever never regretted on food.
- First Moroccan food.
- First mint tea. (That's Moroccan, too!)
- Helped <ljuser=xpioti> move.
- Somebody smashed my car window. They stole my game backpack. I had that packpack for 15 years. All my dice, from when I was a 13 year old geek, were in there. They are still missed.
- Bought a futon for the basement.
- A new pushreel lawn mower.
- Played much Heroes of Might and Magic II. What a fun $10!!!
- Pretty much dropped going to Three Left Feet in the middle of Summer. That had been a good twelve year run. I learned to play with that band.
- One long hot summer.
- Painted the disintigrating basement floor. It needed it. Painted the rest of the basement, too. I still haven't figured out what to do for the ceiling.
- Work sent me to a Mac OSX class in July.
- Figured out that some headaches were coming from meat preservatives. The incidence of headaches has gone way done for me. I still get some bad ones, though.
- I bought my Mac first laptop in August. "Echo" is my baby. She's got Pochacco stickers on her.
- I saw "Grease" performed over at George Mason Univsersity by their summer theatre program.
- I became government in August, letting da MAN pay me. Yes, that mean's George is my boss.
- I dated Jen from July-September. That was good while it lasted.
- Started LiveJournal on <A HREF="http://www.livejournal.com/users/dacuteturtle/day/2002/08/16">August 18</A>. Paid on August 23. This is entry #208.
- Installed wireless in the house.
- I went back to school in September for psychology. It was fun.
- New tires. Other car work.
- Played much Arcanum. That was a good $20.
- Work sent me to a Windows Active Directory class in October.
- October saw my bedroom repainted yellow.
- November saw a trip to see The Producers, in New York, on Broadway.
- Teeth drilled. Fillings replaced. Not fun, but necessary.
- Tried hooking up with a new board game group in October. Caught them in November. Missed them in December.
- My first Playboy. Dita is sooo cute on the cover.
- December saw a trip to the Studeo Theatre to see Bat Boy.
- Worked on the DRD Christmas Party committe. That was actually fun.
- This year saw the year of All Girl Punk Bands. That was a whopping 159 CD's. I'm a nut.
- I got back into musicals this year. Yay fun.
- Singing all those songs from musicals has taken my voice from awful to so-so. Hey, it's an improvement!
- The Sunday D&D game moved from Columbia to Baltimore. Bob and Yoshiko are expecting. Rob and Jeanette seperated.
- Friday night gaming pretty much collapsed in the face of life. Folks just got busy.
- Brian and Lori brought us Galen.
- My brother won about $150k in the lottery. Go bro!!!
- My first white Christmas since I was about 1 or 2.
- My first Ethiopian food.
- Wrestled the MIL lab off the ground. Last year, they didn't have a space. This year, I put their computers in, got their network going, added all their users, and am now trying to get them storage.
- "Quiet the PC down" project still in progress.
- No plane flights or vacations to speak of.
- No steady relationship to speak of. Drat.
- Jeanie got married. Couldn't make the wedding in Ohio.
- & all that stuff that I forgot to mention.
