Layaway

Layaway is making a comeback. With layaway, you have the merchant set aside an item for you. When you pay off the item, you get the item. You pay it off on your schedule. No credit necessary.

Mom used to do layaway all the time. She would find a bargain and pay it off when she had the money. I never really understood the system, but hey, it works!
