Little Projects

It was Home Depot day here this morning. Phone wire, a wall jack, and a new thermostat. I finally wired up a phone in the basement. Yay me. I also wired in a digital, programmable thermostat. Now my house will vary between 70 and 62 degrees automagically. Not only that, the temperature will actually be accurate. Wow.

The old thermostat was just weird. Last spring, Cathy adjusted the thermostat up a couple degrees, to 72, and it sweated me out of house and home. Had to actually be 78 or so.

Thinking of Cathy, I saw her at the party Friday night. I'm still not talking to her in that completely avoidant, disfunctional way. (I dated her a little last spring. Breakup went bad. I acted like a complete JERK-off.) Don't get me wrong. Cathy is a very intelligent woman with a wicked sense of humor. Problem is, that's fine for me to visit, but it also annoys and aggrivates me in long doses. That's not good for a relationship. There were other problems, too. She was dragging me towards social circles that I was moving away from. She made the same mistakes about my personality that my family does, which I really don't need more of either.
