Hattie Hatless

Our little girl's ability to wiggle off her hat has earned her the moniker "Hattie Hatless." Being the creative people that we are, this has lead to a few Hattie Hatless stories. That has lead to a discussion of illustrations. What should this character look like? Maybe I'll have to get the old sketching skills back out. Then again, I don't think I'll be happy. My style isn't the one that I imagine for Hattie Hatless.

We're getting better at dealing with some of Joy's idiosyncracies. When she wants to nurse, but doesn't really want to nurse, it works to walk her around until she decides that she REALLY wants to nurse. In other words, if I walk her around and she "ooohs" and "aaahs" over things, she's not hungry enough.

We took her to the pediatrician yesterday. She's 7 lbs, 13 oz. The little thing's been packing on the weight!

Basement steps are now done. The railing is now varnished. It's now time to tile the landing.
