No Sader

We were supposed to do a sader down in Georgetown last night. We discovered that the sader started an hour earlier than we expected, and we weren't even out the door. So, ummm, that left me to cook. Let me tell you, I did not want to go out, but the fridge? It was challenge. And cans? I did not want food from a can.

Dinner: Onion and swiss omlette (mildly burned, dammit); with apple, cranberry, almond, and honey all cooked together; and poppey-seed bread. Damn, it looked good. It was good. I had no resemblence to food from a can.

I also finished the taxes last night and submitted them. I found out that trying to submit Jen's Virginia taxes on the main form damned us both to paying VA taxes. In the end, I ignored the VA taxes. Then, in a fit of foolishness, did her VA taxes by hand. That was too much work for $77. I hate taxes. They turn intelligent, well educated men into bumbling idiots.
