I can't complalin, though. It was never a super-fast rig. The whole combo cost me less than $500 when I put it together (RAM, MB, CPU). My computer theory is this: 2-3 year later, when I care, the dirt cheap stuff will be much faster. Since I bought my CPU, AMD went whole-hog for 64-bit computing and dual-core. That's a whole lotta improving, folks.
Well, that will all come later. This time around, I have a wife to convince. Meanwhile, I don't actually NEED a faster CPU. This guy runs pretty smoothly most of the time. If I want to spend money, I'd rather throw on mirrored hard drives.
