Here's what I think about the current life/death controversy:

- It is not permissable for the government to say "no" in medical/moral/social conflicts.
- Like the conservative Republicans say, let's keep the Government out of our personal lives. What would Ronnie say?
- If there are to be laws in this arena, they must cover how/when/why/who of these decisions, and be clear enough to follow so that clergy, doctors, and family can reasonably understand the requirements of the law, and meet those requirements. The goal is a fair system that can adequitely protect both the family and the injured, and allow a dignified end-of-life should that path be chosen.
