Macbeth the Usurper

Miss Dash and Comedy

Miss Dash has been doing her imitation of Dr. Doofenshmirtz recently. She's got the basic rhythm of his schpiel down. That's gobsmacking. Really. The level of sophistication behind Doofenshmirtz is far more than it seems. These aren't just any silly things that he says, but pretty structured comedic presentations. And she's putting that together now. Big stuff switched on this summer and now we are seeing it. Miss Dash's isn't attempting comedy, she is now delivering it.

Meanwhile, and era has end. Miss Dash has asked about Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy, and asked us if we were the ones who did that. Yeah, we were. Our imaginary friends were a fun game, and now we've moved on. We did ask her to let other kids have the fun of the game, especially young kids.

Although lap reading has greatly diminished, I do treasure it when I get the chance. The days of lap reading will grow fewer and fewer, and I do not know what time will be the last time.

So far for school, homework has not hit, which is a great relief to me. I like my evening time with Miss Dash. That will get compressed, too, I am sure. She has had to do some reading, so I sit down and read in solidarity with her. That way, I get some for my own project.

Getting Miss Dash through morning routine has gotten easier. She's more cooperative about getting her tasks done. That makes for less stress in the house. She still crawls into bed for snuggles and early morning play. Again, who knows how long that will last. We enjoy it while it's here.
