Macbeth the Usurper

I've started repairs on the old house.

I trimmed an offending tree branch that was touching the house. Really, the whole tree needs to go. It's getting crowded out by the neighbor's tree. I only left it there because the cat liked using it to get to the shed.

I fixed a couple taps in the new house. It was just a matter of pulling the front off the old taps and putting in new guts. Took five minutes.

Oh, and I'm also crawling along on Jen's treadle refinishing. I've restained the top and it's looking pretty good. It's less chestnut than the sides, but a bit more mahogony like the drawers. I'll give the sides a coat as well.

I will likely refinish with tung oil. Not only is it pretty, but it's very water resistant. Not only that, but I'll have some tung oil on hand for when we do our bathroom vanity project. Tung oil is the best oil at repelling water.
