Macbeth the Usurper

On Opening

Last night, Hers Truly succeeded in opening her water bottle while in the crib. The poor thing was soaked. We had to change her and the bed, then read her another book. *sigh* Looks like no more water at night for a while.

Top 100

I went over the Top 100s for the years 2000-2007.

I knew it was bad, but I did not realize just how bad it was.

*Ranty rant rant*

For the years 2004-2007, I found two listenable songs each year for the entire year. TWO.

80% were R&B. If you like this style of music, you are in heaven. You may as well be black with a bass and drum behind you.

The remaining music was either lame country, or fuzzy lame rock. Yes, I am calling all the super-best-cool rock being produced lame. It is LAME LAME LAME.

How can we as a nation produce so much good music, and wind up with this crap labeled as the best?

I think that the worst part is that the sonic-ness of music is all the same, no matter who the act is, and that sonic-ness remains the same year after year. Are the labels trying to tedium us to death?

The major labels deserve to go out of business.
