Macbeth the Usurper

Wicked

The CD for Wicked came over the weekend and took a listen.

I wasn't awed. It was too New Broadway for me. It was technically very good, but flat. The instrumentation was flat. The vocal dynamics were flat. The voices were all too similar. So you have a chain of excellence that ends up in, well, bland land.

It does look like a fun musical. I'd like to see it if it comes through town.

Wicked reviews

I've been browsin the reviews for Wicked. Wow. I thought Dan Savage of Savage Love was merciless. I was wrong. Dan must learn his trade from Broadway show reviewers.

Desk

My desk came in. Yay.

So tonight, get desk, visit grocery, make pressure cooker lamb stew, disassemble den, assemble desk, reassemble den.

Phew.

Next, I need to put up more shelves, and find a comfy chair for the room.

Desk

The desk is assembled. The office is still a mess. The lamb stew was a moderate success. It is tasty, but has room for improvement. The pressue cooker helped speed things along.

Tomorrow, I get to continue my reordering of my office. I must decide on more things to move around, move into boxes, or do without.
