Macbeth the Usurper

Films

I am rather glad that I bought a few CD's last week. I now have something to watch at home. Yay. About half these were $6.

The viewing list is:

- Gozilla Against Mechagodzilla (2004)
- Gozilla Mothra and King Ghidorah (2003)
- Beast From 20,000 Fathoms (1953)
- Yongary, Monster from the Deep (1967)
- Nosferatu (1922)
- SOS Coastguard and Undersea Kingdom (serials, 1930's)

And a copy of The Music Man that I've had sitting around.

Monsterous Sequals

These monsters got me thinking about monsterous remakes. In this virtual film festival, we will se original monster films followed by sequals.

Some are easy. One has the original Dracula, along with the myriad of other Draculas, some more villified than others. One could easily to a several day film festival dedicated to Dracula. I'm not talking Dracula and all his sons. No, I mean just films claiming to originate from Stoker's work.

Some remakes aren't obvious. What is the remake of Creature From 20,000 Fathoms? That would be the American Godzilla.

For King King, not only do we have the 1970's remake, but we have the upcomming Jackson remake.

Disney redid Mighty Joe Young a few years back.

The Lost World was essentially a remake of The Lost World.

The Thing.

I'm sure that there are more. I will leave more as an exercise to the reader.
