Macbeth the Usurper

I didn't like the guy. But I am the first to admit the man was an amazing orator. He did love his country. He did have double his share of scandals. He did have a vision, even if I don't agree with it. (In contrast, the present president has no vision, and heck, doesn't have any policies either.)

I'm supposed to get Friday off. Being in a clinical hospital, that doens't necessarily mean I get the day off. That decision has yet to be made.

One of my sub-bosses is leaving. I'm tossing my hat into the ring for her job. There a few of us who are well qualified for the position. I'm so-so on the job, but having been a live-game GM, I can handle people needing a big sort-out. Even more so, I want a GS-12.

Dating vocabulary update

I just read a NYT piece about "hooking up" in high school. This shines light on my more recent dating experiences. No wonder I've had problems whenever I mentioned "dating" or "girlfriend". I was using the wrong vocabulary! "Hooking up" is now the preferred vocabulary. Damn, wish I known that years ago. Didn't have a useful term for it.

This also makes me go, "No wonder I was having a hard time. Dating is far MORE shallow that I thought it was." Well, looks like I can't put this to use in the near future. Well, I'll put this into my notes for when I'm a dirty old man.

As for the article, I would say that I'm amazed at the sex in high school, but who am I kidding? Same activity, different technology.

Dead Presidents

Looks like gridlock tomorrow as lots of people come into town to see a dead President.

I've never seen a dead president before. I should go.
