I would call some of this poppycock, but I had actually been drifting towards some of these views on my own. In my field, I could teach a 14 year old how to take care of computers with relative ease, and have him cracking good by 18, all on a reading/writing/basic math education. That's it. Make sure that he can write clearly and speak well, and you've got it.
In fact, most positions that I know of are that way, even CEO. You don't need to be a genius or have an amazing education. What you do need it the judgement to do the job that you are doing.
