Friday night was Bridge in DC. I haven't played bridge in a dog's age. I could not remember anything. Fortunately, this time around, I had people who would explain the vocabulary to me, explain what was going on, then actually NOT tell me what to do. That was good. I learned more bridge on Friday than I ever learned before.
Saturday, we went down to the AFI Theatre in Silver Spring. This is the historic theatre that the American Film Institute restored for showing American and world films. The ticket girl was too cute -- dark hair and dark glasses. The lobby is just plain ugly. I dislike the lobby for this theatre. But that only lulls you into a sense of blandess, as the actual theatre is gorgeous. Wonderful. Big.
We went down to see the shorts in the Washington Film Festival. Part I was this weekend. Part II is next Saturday.
They will be showing the uncut Godzilla in May. Much coolness. Also, Bridge On The River Kwai. And Casablanca. Too much good stuff to mention.
Sunday, I lazied about playing Morrowind (and mowed the back lawn) while Jen went marching with the Religious Coalition For Reproductive Choice. She came back with an insane desire for chicken fried steak, with mashed potatoes and gravy. I reaped the benefits of her inexplicable lust.
