Dancer in the Dark

I rewatched Dancer in the Dark today. I first saw it in the theatre, with Heather, way back when. I bought the film back in January. I've been avoiding it since then. For the longest time, I thought that I was avoiding something else, in that psych kind of way. Nope. I was avoiding this film. This is an extremely good film. Understand that. But you won't want to watch it twice. It's a very hard film to watch.

I remain most impressed by the stuff that shows up in the films. I saw ordinary things in this film that I had not seen in decades. Everything in this film seemed period, down to the tacky way the stairwell in the farm house was carpeted.

Anyhow, the deed is now done. I don't have to watch it again.
